We also encourage you to keep up-to-date on our Facebook page Driven For Success for all other related topics and the exciting progress we are anticipating for 2023.
No, we're an independent company.
But, we have approval from the New Zealand Transport Agency for the use of questions and signage, so everything is relevant to the actual driving theory test questions requirements set out in New Zealand.
Yes.
As of July 2023, our game is available for purchase at Paper Plus and Whitcoulls outlets throughout New Zealand.
We do recommend that you call first to make sure they have some in stock
Not yet.
We would love to do this out of great respect for the Māori people, the indigenous population of New Zealand.
This is already a plan for future versions of the game, but it greatly depends on how well the launch version sells so we can finance the Māori, te reo version.
Yes!
But at the moment, the game will only ship with 4 player pieces. We do have plans to sell more player pieces, but until then you will need to find a substitute player piece.
Anything of similar size and shape to the car player pieces will work for now.
Unfortunately, no - not at this time, sorry. But we would love to make the game global as it will be easily adaptable and that is our long-term goal.
We are at the start of our journey. We are based in New Zealand and so are starting here. Once the game has made enough sales we will look into regional versions.
However, we are working with our media and publication people and currently progressing with parties in Australia and the United Kingdom to explore the interest in making this a global product!
No at this time
The packs we have are all we have in stock but we do have duplicate cards in stock and can be ordered separately should you need to replace lost or damaged packs
We will also be keeping up-to-date with any changes from NZTA and creating new packs to reflect that, so the game can always be relevant for generations!
Soon.
We're just at launch at the moment, but our plan is to add these to the store area in time so you can replace lost parts.
If you just wanted to add more car pieces for adding more players to the game - though the colours will still be the same. ( players would have to mark the duplicates )
We may look into different colours if there is a high demand, but nothing is decided yet until see we see how the game sells.
Absolutely!!
As of July 2023, we continue to seek sponsors and funding in order to quickly push our game forward globally however, at this time we continue to work with limited finances and selling income as we progress.
Sponsors will need to be related to the topic of the game in some way for the partnership to work.
No, not yet, but we love that you wanted to know! We are a young company but do have ideas for future games along with the same style. A few examples of this would be motorbike and boating versions.
We continue to be focused on making New Zealand a much safer place to live and have drafted our next product "Survival For Success" which will be focusing on First Aid, Fire, and Water Safety. This game is planned to be available globally.
So, watch this space and follow our Facebook page Driven For Success as we continue to progress.
Everything depends on how well this game sells so spread the word and help us get moving.
Please let us know via the contact form on the home page or you can email us at contact@drivenforsuccess.shop
We'll be happy to anwser!
To support players learning New Zealand’s Road codes in a fun, interactive environment.
Instructions.
Game board.
Dice (two numbered and one colour coded red and yellow for card colours).
2 Packs of “Learning cards”(consisting of 55 cards each).
3 Packs of “Question cards” (consisting of 55 cards each).
4 Player cars (coloured red, green, blue and yellow).
Place the board on a table and take one pack each of learning cards (L) and question cards (Q) from the game box and place them in their allocated spaces on the board, with the back of cards facing up and the learning and question information facing down, as illustrated on the back of the game box. The cards correspond with the coloured coded die: Yellow = Learning, Red = Questions. Each player chooses a car colour to represent them while travelling around the board. The players agree on what speed (Fast 2 numbered dice, Slow one numbered die), and level of proficiency option they will play for question squares: Novice or Expert
To begin the game, each player throws the numbered die in turn. The player with the highest number will start first and the game follows from the starter and moves in a clockwise direction. If different players roll the same high number, they each re-roll until a start player is established. Players then roll both the numbered and the coloured coded dice to travel around the board. Rolling a number six ( or any double numbers if using fast play with two numbered dice ), during any part of the game does not permit the player to throw again.
Throwing a red colour on the colour coded die means the player will answer a question card. The player must answer the question correctly. If he does so, he can throw again. If the answer is incorrect, the player remains where they are until their next move. The question card is read aloud by another player in the game. Where there are road signs, the reader will cover the answer when showing the picture.
Throwing a yellow colour on the colour-coded die means the player will read the top learning card aloud to the other players. They will remain at that place until their next move unless a THROW AGAIN addition on the card dictates otherwise. Learning Card addition: THROW AGAIN - Players can roll the dice again to progress.
The game board has question card squares along the route. Before starting the game, the players agree on what level of proficiency option they will play for question squares: Novice or Expert? Optional: If the players have large, varying degrees of driving experience, they can agree to state what each player will have for a fair game, i.e. the more experienced players using the Expert proficiency.
The players agree on what level of proficiency they will play for question squares: Novice or Expert. Novice: When landing on a question square, the colour from the thrown coloured coded die is IGNORED and instead, the player must answer one question card. Expert: When landing on a question square, the colour from the thrown coloured coded die is in ADDITION to the player answering a question card. Therefore, if you land on a question square and have thrown a red with the coloured coded die, you will be asked TWO questions. Answering all questions correctly means the player can roll the dice again and move forward. Answering any question incorrectly means the player remains at their place until their next turn.
The winner is the first player to reach the home base at the end of the route and answer a question correctly. Until the player reaches home base the colour-coded die is always in play unless the Novice proficiency option is being used for question squares. If they land on the final question square and give an incorrect answer, they must throw a one (1) on their next turn otherwise they have to wait again, but they do not need to be asked another question of the square they occupy. If they gave a correct answer they need to throw a one (1) to get to the home base. Once the potential winning player has reached home base, they are required to answer a question card correctly. Failure to do so will result in them having to wait until their next turn to be asked another question to win. If they still fail to answer the question correctly, they must wait again until their turn to be asked another question and so on. This means multiple players could be at the home base together, where the first one to answer their question correctly would win. Once the potential winning player has answered their final question correctly, they have won the game!
